Welkom Theo en Frieda

Theo en Frieda zijn ondertussen al een weekje in België en installeerden zich op hun kot in Mechelen en op het YFU kantoor. Zij zijn immers onze ESC (European Solidarity Corps) vrijwilligers die ons dit jaar komen helpen met de projecten rond Cultuurspelen en Coloured glasses. Daarnaast helpen ze ook een handje met andere zaken binnen onze werking van YFU. Het kan dus zijn dat je ze op het Sinterklaasfeest, op een weekend, op een schoolbezoek, ... of andere ook tegenkomt.

Hier stellen ze zichtzelf even voor...

Hi my name is Frieda and I am the new intern for YFU Flanders. 

I am 19 years old and from Schoenebeck in Germany. I like to draw and be creative in all different ways, as well as learning new languages. Because I have always been interested in Dutch culture and cultural exchange, Mechelen was the ideal destination. That’s why I am excited to spend time in Belgium to learn about the culture and language from my new colleagues at YFU.

Goede Dag, my name is Theo Gatzky and I am volunteering this year with YFU Flanders.

I’ve been a hostbrother a few times now and I went abroad myself with YFU France. All this time experiencing exchange has convinced me of YFUs mission, and now I want to share the YFU values with the world. 

One thing to know about me is that the first thing on my packing list was my piano. Music has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember, and throughout all this time I’ve learned again and again that music is the universal language. 

Nevertheless I’m excited to learn Dutch and live in Mechelen.
